LEAK PREVENTION VALVE

The Phoenix Leak Prevention Valve (LPV) prevents uncontrolled release of CSG water to grade, in the scenario that a High Point Vent (HPV) has failed in an open state. The Phoenix LPV has been engineered to the following criteria:

  • Allow gas to flow through the LPV with no restriction to the flow exiting the HPV (up to ø9mm orifice). Optimised for high flow-rate discharge.
  • The LPV allows gas or two-phase flow, but shuts off once water reaches the LPV, preventing loss of containment.
  • Incorporated Pressure Gauge indicates line pressure when the LPV has actuated (shut-off flow).
  • Optional LPV Indicator Flag provides a clear visual indication, visible from a distance, that a LPV has actuated.
  • Bleed valve facilitates pressure bleed down and easy draining to return the LPV to operation.

LPV INDICATOR FLAG

The Phoenix LPV Indicator Flag provides a clear visual indication, visible from a distance, that a LPV has actuated. Current practice is for CSG operators to manually inspect each LPV on the gathering network to identify actuated LPV’s. The LPV Indicator Flag removes the requirement for operators to park, exit and re-enter their vehicles when inspecting LPV pressure gauges. Operators can readily see the LPV’s operational state from the comfort of their vehicles, while travelling along a right of way.

  • Pressure retaining design with protection from the elements.
  • Can be installed on any HPV which is fitted with a Phoenix LPV.
  • The LPV Indicator Flag was designed in collaboration with operators.

LPV HPV ADAPTORS

The Phoenix Leak Prevention Valve (LPV) can be retrofitted to existing High Point Vents (HPV’s). The range of LPV adaptors are Engineered to ensure that existing HPV components upstream of the LPV outlet are pressure retaining, as the addition of a LPV moves the pressure spec break location. The LPV adaptors have inbuilt anti-backflow functionality and utilise parallel threads with high quality sealing and retaining rings for ease of installation and seal reliability. The following adaptors are available:

  • A.R.I Combination Air Valve:
    • Replaces the standard A.R.I plastic anti-backflow fitting.
  • VentMaster HPV:
    • Replaces the standard VentMaster outlet cap.
    • Designed in collaboration with operators to improve ease of installation and seal reliability.
    • Comes complete with all required seals and SS316 hardware.
  • Other adaptors are available upon request.
